Spencer Javras is a Director in the Internal Audit department at DLA, LLC and focuses primarily on DLA’s business development, real estate, and asset management clients. Spencer has over seven years of professional experience in internal audit.

At DLA, Spencer is responsible for building internal control frameworks for BDC, REIT, and asset management clients, readying them to be SOX compliant by drafting and reviewing business process narratives and flowcharts, reviewing work papers from initial testing cycles, providing recommendations for documentation enhancements, and working with clients to resolve control gaps. Additionally, Spencer conducts process walkthroughs, organizes and runs project status calls, utilizes his knowledge of SOX to recommend control and process improvements, and assists with the development of remediation plans in accordance with SOX requirements.

During his time at DLA, he has also tested a variety of internal and financial controls for completeness and relevancy by assessing evidence supplied by clients. In addition, he has led a variety of internal audit projects, including operational reviews and documented exceptions, findings, and test results through the preparation of testing work papers, testing workbooks, and audit reports.
