Pratik Patel is a Director in DLA, LLC’s Internal Audit department with nearly 25 years of experience in audit, risk management, and financial oversight, serving clients across Private Credit (BDCs), Private Equity, Asset and Wealth Management, and Real Estate. Pratik brings deep expertise in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, internal audit strategy, and operational risk assessments. He has worked closely with fund managers, institutional investors, and real estate investment firms to evaluate internal controls, identify process gaps, and strengthen governance frameworks.

Throughout his career, Pratik has led internal audit and compliance engagements tailored to the complexities of financial services organizations. He advises clients on financial reporting integrity, fund flow controls, investor transparency, and portfolio monitoring — key areas for alternative investment platforms and credit managers. He also supports organizations with the development of comprehensive SOX documentation, including narratives, risk control matrices, and testing procedures, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory standards.

Pratik has a proven track record managing large-scale audit programs, aligning internal audit functions with business objectives while overseeing staffing, timelines, and stakeholder communication. His experience spans real estate and hospitality to alternative investment vehicles, where he has delivered insight on areas such as budgeting, forensic accounting, and fraud risk management. His work also includes operational reviews in inventory and supply chain processes — bringing a broad-based, investigative approach to control evaluations within investment-backed operating companies.

Prior to joining DLA, Pratik held leadership roles at FTI Consulting and W.P. Carey & Co., LLC, and began his career at Eisner LLP (now EisnerAmper).
