Pratik Patel is a Director at DLA, LLC in the Internal Audit department. He has over 24 years of professional auditing and accounting experience primarily in the real estate and hospitality industries.  Pratik is a highly accomplished professional with significant knowledge and experience in many facets of real estate including financial reporting, property management, asset management, budgeting, job costing, lender reporting, due diligence, audit coordination and forensic accounting.  Pratik has hands on experience defining audit scope, developing strategies, and prioritizing activities by researching clients’ risks, objectives, and business goals. Further Pratik assists clients with performing Internal Audit, Compliance, and Fraud risk assessments, finalizing the Audit Plan, providing subject matter expertise, and sharing industry leading practices.  Pratik successfully leads all aspects of large client engagements including staffing with correct skills/ resources, managing client relationships, analyzing the engagement risks, and maintaining a high quality of deliverables. Additionally, Pratik assists clients with SOX documentation, narratives, risk control matrices and testing plans. Pratik’s primary clients are Empire State Realty Trust, SL Green, Ferrotec, Innovative Industrial Properties, Thomas James Homes and Hunt Companies for which he helps planning and scoping audits with key stakeholders and assessing areas of risks in key process areas.

Prior to joining DLA, Pratik held accounting and consulting positions with FTI Consulting and W.P. Carey & Co., LLC.  He began his career with the public accounting firm, Eisner LLP (now EisnerAmper).  While at FTI Consulting, Pratik provided outsourced accounting services for Invesco Mortgage Capital, Inc., a publicly traded mortgage REIT that acquires, finances, and manages residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities and mortgage loans.
