Paul Higgins is a Partner, Head of Insurance Practice & Chicago Office Leader, at DLA LLC. Paul brings a wealth of leadership and expertise to enhance DLA’s internal audit offerings, including a specialized focus in insurance, as well as general financial services internal audit work. His expertise strengthens DLA’s capabilities within the insurance sector but also enriches the firm’s capacity to serve clients across the broader financial services industry. Paul’s leadership, deep risk management experience, and client-focused approach make him a pivotal force in shaping DLA’s future.

Prior to joining DLA LLC, Paul, as Principal, served various insurance and financial services firms, collaborating on co-sourced and outsourced internal audit functions while maintaining direct line of communication with both management and audit committees. Through this work he helped raise the risk management capabilities and competencies of internal audit, enterprise risk management, compliance, and other internal control functions. He also played a crucial role in supporting successful client digital transformations, emphasizing internal controls for audit, operation, and regulatory requirements.

Paul also led engagements related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Model Audit Rule programs, encompassing activities ranging from the initial program setup for IPOs to continuous program evaluation and execution for both domestic and international companies.
