Briana D’Agati, CPA, is a Director of Internal Audit with over 11 years of experience delivering audit, assurance, and advisory services to public and private companies, with deep expertise in internal controls, SOX compliance, and complex financial reporting. She brings a strong professional services background, having spent her career advising clients across the real estate, financial services, and investment management sectors.

At DLA, LLC, Briana supports the firm’s mission to deliver high-quality internal audit, accounting, and corporate finance solutions while fostering a collaborative, flexible, and high-performing culture. She partners closely with clients to develop and maintain trusted relationships, providing executive-level insights and practical solutions that strengthen governance, risk management, and control environments. Her experience includes auditing business development companies (BDCs), leading SOX compliance and remediation efforts, and delivering clear, actionable reporting to senior management and boards.

Briana has extensive experience managing and reviewing complex engagements, including overseeing budgets, forecasting project performance, performing quality assurance reviews, and managing billing and receivables processes. She is known for her ability to lead and develop teams, balance multiple priorities, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work across engagements.

Prior to joining DLA, Briana spent over a decade at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she progressed from Audit & Assurance Assistant to Senior Manager. During her tenure, she led financial statement audits and internal control engagements for large and mid-sized public and private companies, supported one of the largest REIT IPOs, and managed multinational audit teams. She also completed Deloitte’s CFO Management Development Program, working directly with CFOs of major organizations on strategic initiatives, executive communications, and thought leadership.

More recently, Briana has advised clients on sustainability readiness and assurance, leveraging her deep internal controls background to support governance, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance related to emerging sustainability standards and regulations.

Briana holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Marist University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.
