Andrew (Andy) Shinn is a Partner within DLA’s Private Equity vertical, where he supports private equity firms and their portfolio companies through transaction advisory, post-acquisition integration, operational improvement, and financial governance. Andy helps advance DLA’s capabilities in delivering comprehensive financial and operational solutions across the investment lifecycle. His focus is on helping clients identify value creation opportunities, streamline financial processes, and strengthen portfolio performance through a collaborative, hands-on approach.

Andy brings more than 25 years of experience spanning private equity, strategic finance, and operational leadership. His career includes senior investment and executive roles with leading global organizations such as The Carlyle Group, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, and PAG—Asia’s largest private equity firm—where he led the firm’s market entry into Korea and executed its first leveraged buyout. He has also held C-suite positions in industries ranging from startups in healthcare services and liquid rocket propulsion systems to well established businesses in consumer products and financial services where he oversaw large-scale restructurings, raised significant growth capital, and repositioned businesses for sustainable success.

A transformative and mission-driven leader, Andy has built a career guiding organizations through periods of inflection—whether scaling, restructuring, or redefining strategic direction. His cross-functional expertise and global perspective make him uniquely equipped to advise private equity sponsors and portfolio companies navigating complex change. Andy holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
