Alex Islamov

Managing Director - IT Advisory

Alex Islamov is a Managing Director in DLA, LLC’s IT Advisory and Internal Audit practice, based in Chicago, specializing in cybersecurity strategy, IT governance, and risk management. He brings over 18 years of experience leading enterprise-wide security programs, developing governance frameworks, and advising executive stakeholders across Fortune 500 companies, public sector organizations, and highly regulated industries. Alex is recognized for his ability to align cybersecurity initiatives with business strategy, regulatory mandates, and emerging technology risks, including AI governance and cloud security.

Before joining DLA, Alex held senior leadership roles at global consulting and Fortune 100 organizations. Most recently, he served as Associate Director of Security Risk Management at Verizon, where he led enterprise cyber governance initiatives, regulatory compliance programs, and FedRAMP and CMMC readiness efforts for the company’s Public Sector business. Previously, Alex was Director of Cybersecurity Strategy & GRC at MorganFranklin Consulting, where he built scalable risk and compliance frameworks, developed AI governance programs, and advised on cybersecurity in M&A transactions. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles with Baker Tilly, Deloitte, and EY, focusing on cybersecurity advisory, IT governance, and risk transformation programs.
